What is this all about?
In essence, this is about pinpointing who is the most intelligent and best-looking amongst Monty’s mates. Just kidding! Really, this is a fun, social competition between friends. It’s just like your typical Melbourne cup sweep, with the event backdrop being the FIFA Football World Cup 2022.
Each player pays an AUD$10 entry fee which forms the total prize pool (NZD$11 for my mates across the ditch – no discrimination, purely currency parity!). The winner and runners-up will win their share of the prize pool.
How does it work?
Each player will submit their best predictions / guesses to a set of 9 questions, such as who will win and who will make it to the semi- and quarter-finals etc.
Being a probability enthusiast (I probably shouldn’t publicly admit this should I?!), I have scored and weighted the questions (see the Rulebook for more info) so that we can easily and fairly rank each participant. Once the competition starts I will publish a leaderboard on this page so you can track your placing and it is all transparent. The prize pool will be divided between the winner, runner-up and second runner-up.
